Halloween Igloo Decorating Contest by Screenhog!!!

From the 15th to 17th of this month, the submissions for our Halloween igloo decorating contest will be open! Here are some more details about the contest from Screenhog:

Hello Penguins, Screenhog here.

As you may have heard, there’s a new Halloween Igloo Contest coming up next weekend. I saw some great decorating suggestions from you guys on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to seeing some of them.

One of the things that will come in handy for this year’s contest is that now your igloos are stored like items. It used to be that when you bought a new igloo, you’d lose your old one. But last month we added a feature where igloos get added to your inventory instead. Check it out:

Well, my igloo’s ready for the contest! Give it a try, and don’t miss your chance to enter the contest next weekend. If you’ve got any other igloo tips, let me know in the comments.Have a good one… and waddle on!

-Club Penguin Team

Hmm… I wonder if I should decorate my igloo this year or not? I haven’t changed it ever since I was a member on Club Penguin.. but I think now, finally, that’s going to change!

Waddle on!

Screenhog Talks Fall Fair!!!

Screenhog’s back blogging again, and this time it’s about the Fall Fair party! He talks about the Fair games and decided to make a small game of his own! Let’s take a look at his whole post!

Hello Penguins!

Screenhog here.

Since we’re playing lots of Fair games I thought I’d make one of my own. See if you can find all these things at the party.

Good luck – I think a couple of them are tricky. Take your best guesses in the comments.

There are also some new prizes at the prize booth today. Don’t miss your chance to get them because the Fair gets packed up after the weekend.

Until then… Waddle on.

-Club Penguin Team

I think I know where all those places are. Let me know if you can find them all!

I hope you’re all enjoying the Fall Fair of 2010, which all ends on the 12th. Also please let me know if you meet Rockhopper!

Screenhog’s Don’t Miss List for the Adventure Party 2010!!!

Unfortunately, the Adventure Party 2010 is coming to an end very soon, as well as Rockhopper’s visit. There are some things listed below, which Screenhog has suggested we mustn’t miss!

Hello Penguins. Screenhog here again.

Talk about adventure – we’ve seen pirates, squids and mermaids all battling, treasure hunting, and just plain raising a ruckus. It’s been great!

June 25 Blog image.jpgSince there’s only a few days left for the party, I wanted to let you know some of the things you should check out. Check out my Don’t Miss List:

  • Rockhopper’s Rare Items catalog. Rockhopper’s only here for a short time – so make sure to grab your free Squid Lid!
  • The great Ship Battle room – Members, don’t forget to dress up (We’ve seen some interesting battles. Like the Pirates vs. Kings!)
  • Fireflies in the Forest – Can you get them to light up? (Hint: get more penguins in there!)
  • Snowball-eating plant in the Forest!
  • Scavenger Hunt – and the treasure you dig for!
  • The new entrance to the Hidden Lake – I hear this will be sticking around after the party.
  • Stand at the Iceberg and wait – you might see something unexpected…

There’s only a few days left for the party, so round up some friends and get adventuring! And if you’ve got your own Don’t Miss List, let me know about it in the comments.

Until next time… Waddle on!

-Club Penguin Team

I don’t think I’ve missed any of those things, but make sure you do all those fun things! I really will miss having the island so beautifully decorated, but I’m glad the secret entrance to the Hidden Lake will stay!

Please let me know if you meet Rockhopper!

Behind the Scenes sketches of the Popcorn Explosion!!!

Screenhog posted some behind the scenes sketches of the popcorn explosion, created by Herbert in mission 11.

Here’s a copy of his post:

Hello Agents… Screenhog here.

If you’re an agent and you haven’t finished the new mission yet, stop reading this and head directly to HQ to get your orders from G!

Did you know that other than the earthquake that hit the Town Center in 2008, the island hasn’t been affected in such a major way by a mission before? The team wanted to show you some behind-the-scenes sketches of how the popcorn explosion changed the island:

Let us know what you think of the mission and the popcorn – and make sure to share all of your ideas about what’s coming up for agents, too.

Until then…Waddle on!

Maybe I should start my drawing again? I could draw some Club Penguin pictures and maybe send them in, you could too?

I remember the Earthquake which mainly destoyed the town in 2008, it was quite bad. Here are some pictures:

Screenhog’s Post on Club Penguin History

Here’s what Screenhog’s Post says about Club Penguin Puffle History.

Hi everyone, it’s Screenhog!

In honor of the upcoming Puffle Party, I dug really deep to find out the history of the puffle. It’s hard to believe now, but when Club Penguin launched, there were no puffles at all. At that time, the community of Club Penguin asked if they could have some kind of pet to adopt for their igloo, and we decided that, instead of using animals that already existed, we wanted to make up a completely new creature for the penguins to adopt.

We started sketching some ideas of what a Club Penguin pet might look like, and now, showing for the first time ever, here are some of those original sketches from November 2005:

PuffleConcepts copy copy.jpg

Some of the ideas were combined, and the puffle as we know it now was born (although we liked the propeller one enough that we gave the green puffle a propeller cap to fly around with). We’d love to know what your very favorite thing is about puffles.

Until then…Waddle on!

Woah, they’re really weird, I think I don’t like any except for the Silver Propeller One.

Club Penguin’s Early Sketches of the Dance Contest Game!!!

Screenhog has blogged some early sketches of the Dance Contest. Here’s what his post says:

Hi Everyone! Screenhog here.

The Night Club is one of the oldest rooms in Club Penguin, dating back to the very beginning. Since the start of Club Penguin, making our penguins dance has been a popular activity. Lots of you asked for it, so it seemed only natural that we introduce a dance game that included a multiplayer mode.

I wanted to show you a sketch from way back when we were first designing the Dance Contest game:BreakdanceImage[1].jpgIf you get to this part in the game, you can see what it looks like now – With, of course, some color and animation…! Let us know what you think.

Until then…Waddle on!

Card – Jitsu Behind the Scene Sketches!!!

Screenhog has finally got some Behind the Scene Sketches of Card Jitsu. Lets take a look.

Hi everyone! Screenhog here.

So many of you are playing Card-Jitsu, but we haven’t shown any behind-the-scenes Card-Jitsu art yet, have we? Well, let’s fix that right now:

Firefighter.jpgThis is a rough sketch from the firefighter power card animation. Every piece of animation in the game had to have rough animations made first. Here are a few more rough sketches from other power card animations.

4Powers.jpg
Have you seen any of these in the game yet? Any other fun ninja stuff you want to talk about? Send us a comment!

Until then…Waddle on!
